    Our Standards

    Four things every home meets

    Fragrance-Free

Cleaning products, laundry products, provided toiletries, and the home itself are free of undisclosed added fragrance. Synthetic fragrance is never permitted. Essential oils and other natural fragrance sources are permitted only if they are disclosed on the listing.

    Natural-Fiber Bedding & Towels

Bedding and bath towels are made from natural fibers — cotton, linen, silk, or wool. Hidden protective layers such as mattress protectors, pillow protectors, and waterproof liners are exempt.

    Low-Tox Kitchen

A low-tox cooking setup is available for guest use: stainless steel or cast iron cookware; glass or stainless cups and bowls; a glass, stainless, or wood cutting board; and stainless steel or wood utensils. Conventional nonstick may still be present, but these low-tox options must always be available.

    Air Purifier

At least one air purifier is available in the home for guest use.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    For Guests

Every listed home is held to Our Standards — four required conditions the host attests to and keeps current: fragrance-free products and practices throughout (with any essential oil use disclosed on the listing), natural-fiber bedding and towels, a low-tox kitchen (stainless, cast iron, or glass cookware and food-contact items), and at least one air purifier in the home.

No — it’s a commitment to the products and practices used in the home, not a guarantee of a scent-free environment. Factors outside a host’s control (previous guests’ belongings, neighboring units, outdoor conditions) can still affect a space. If you have significant sensitivities, please review the listing’s Health & Environmental Disclaimer before booking.

Depending on the listing, you’ll either book and pay the host directly through Purestay, or Purestay will point you to wherever that host prefers guests to book. Either way, the host is your point of contact for your stay.

Cancellation terms are set at the listing level and shown before you book, since they can vary by host.

Hosts attest to Our Standards in their Home Health Profile and are expected to keep that information accurate. Purestay reviews listings for alignment with Our Standards and removes or suspends homes that fall short, but does not independently inspect or test every property.

No — you can browse and book without creating one. An account is optional and lets you save homes, view trip history, and rebook faster.

    For Hosts

You choose at signup: send Purestay’s traffic to wherever you already prefer guests to book — your own site, another platform, or direct — with no commission taken, or let guests book and pay you directly through your Purestay listing, in which case Purestay takes a commission per booking.

You are. Payments run through your own connected account, so you own the guest relationship, receipts, refunds, and any disputes.

Your home must meet Our Standards: fragrance-free products and practices (essential oil use disclosed if applicable), natural-fiber bedding and towels, a low-tox kitchen, and at least one air purifier. You’ll attest to these in your Home Health Profile during onboarding.

Yes — every listing goes through an admin review before publishing, and edits to a live listing trigger a re-review to keep it aligned with Our Standards.

You’ll attest that you carry appropriate short-term rental and homeowners coverage as part of onboarding. Purestay collects this information but does not verify or vouch for your coverage — that’s between you and your insurer.

Purestay may temporarily suspend the listing while it reviews the report — this is a precautionary step, not a finding against you. You’ll have a chance to respond with evidence before any final outcome.
